Outbreak Log 3
This week, we have a few things to talk about. In the art department as you can see above, we have the pixel art for our dimensional orb all done. This orb is what starts it all, and we wanted to open our game with this little guy for the exposition in the beginning of our game. The world map is also coming along nicely, although we don’t want to show that off yet as it is not quite done.
One of the things that we started working on this week was multiplayer!! You can see two characters hanging out here in the lobby below:
We wanted a lobby that allowed players the freedom to walk around and do what they need before the game starts, and this is only one of the lobbies that will be available in the full game.
As of right now, we expect that the game will have up to 4 people playing together at one time. We plan on having the basic survival co-op mode, as well as a ‘battle mode’ where you compete who can survive the longest, and a third where you protect a structure / point of interest from monsters.
Right now, we are working on getting the multiplayer running in a playable state, then we will begin creating UI and systems to stitch everything together.
